360° Polycarbonate Dome Mirror - Shatterproof description & specifications

When breakage cannot happen, go with a polycarbonate dome mirror. Polycarbonate is 250 times stronger, more impact-resistant than glass, and withstands extreme temperatures. In most situations, acrylic dome mirrors are a good fit, but in areas where vandalism can occur or places such as daycare centers and schools, choose a mirror that can withstand breaking and shattering.

When safety and durability are top priorities, look no further than our Virtually Unbreakable Polycarbonate Dome Mirror. This shatterproof dome mirror is designed to withstand the most demanding environments, making it the perfect choice for warehouses, offices, schools, and other facilities where impact resistance is crucial.

The Strength of Polycarbonate: 250 Times Stronger Than Glass

Our polycarbonate dome mirror is crafted from high-quality polycarbonate, which is known for its incredible strength and durability. Polycarbonate is 250 times stronger than glass and virtually unbreakable, ensuring your mirror remains intact even under the most challenging conditions.

🌐 Shatterproof and Impact-Resistant: Perfect for High-Traffic Areas

In high-traffic areas where accidents can happen, our shatterproof dome mirror provides the ultimate peace of mind. Its impact-resistant properties make it the ideal choice for warehouses, schools, and other environments where safety is paramount. With this mirror, you can trust that it will remain functional and reliable, even if struck or hit.

Our polycarbonate dome mirrors stand as a fortress against impacts and damage. They are shatterproof, ensuring they maintain their integrity even when exposed to forceful effects. This feature makes them exceptionally reliable, promising a product that continues to deliver outstanding performance without succumbing to wear and tear.

🛡 Lightweight and Weather-Resistant: Versatile and Low-Maintenance

Despite its incredible strength, our polycarbonate dome mirror is exceptionally lightweight, weighing approximately 1/3 the weight of glass. This makes installation and handling a breeze. Additionally, polycarbonate is highly weather-resistant and can withstand extreme temperatures without permanent damage, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Scratch-Resistant and Easy to Clean: Maintain Optimal Visibility

While polycarbonate may scratch more easily than glass, it is not prone to shattering or chipping. This ensures that your unbreakable dome mirror maintains its structural integrity, even if scratched. Cleaning is simple, as polycarbonate is resistant to many chemicals and can be easily wiped down with everyday cleaning products.

Choosing the Right Backing for Your Indoor Dome Mirror

Our polycarbonate dome mirrors have two backing options for indoor use: no backing and hardboard backing. While both options are suitable for indoor environments, each has its advantages (polycarbonate dome mirrors are also available with heavy-duty plastic backing suitable for outdoor use.)

No Backing:

Dome mirrors, such as half domes, quarter domes, and 270-degree domes, are typically mounted flush against the wall, leaving an open space behind the mirror. If you are concerned about debris like dust or trash accumulating in this space, consider choosing a mirror with a backing. Alternatively, you can easily fill the void with crushed newspaper or cover the opening with a cardboard cutout to prevent debris from entering.

Advantages of Polycarbonate Dome Mirrors

  • Polycarbonate is 250 times stronger than glass and is virtually unbreakable.
  • Polycarbonate is exceptionally lightweight, approximately 1/3 the weight of glass.
  • It is highly weather-resistant. In fact, at very high and low temperatures, it will slightly expand and contract without causing permanent damage.
  • It will scratch. However, it is not prone to shattering or chipping.
  • It is a higher cost than acrylic.
  • Available with no backing or hardboard backing for indoor use.

Don't compromise on safety and durability. Invest in our Virtually Unbreakable Polycarbonate Dome Mirror and experience the peace of mind that comes with shatterproof, impact-resistant protection. Elevate your facility's safety measures with this reliable and long-lasting solution.

FAQ

What is the difference between full dome, half dome, and quarter dome mirrors?

Full domes provide near 360-degree overhead visibility and are used above open areas or four-way intersections. Half domes are useful at T-intersections or wall-adjacent areas. Quarter domes fit corners and L-shaped corridor intersections.

How are half dome and quarter dome mirrors mounted?

Half dome and quarter dome mirrors usually mount to walls, ceilings, or corners through pre-drilled rim holes or d-loop rings on backed versions. Install them into solid material or appropriate anchors at a height that gives pedestrians and equipment operators a clear view.

Why does my quarter dome mirror look smaller than the size I ordered?

A quarter dome uses the radius of the original full dome as its straight-edge measurement. For example, a 32 inch quarter dome will have straight edges of about 16 inches because it is one quarter of a 32 inch full dome.

When should I use a full dome mirror instead of a convex mirror?

Use a full dome when people, carts, forklifts, or customers approach from multiple directions and overhead panoramic visibility is needed. Use a wall-mounted convex mirror when the primary need is one or two approach directions around a corner or obstruction.
